Four Days of Dunkirk – Stage 2 Results

Jimmy Engoulvent (Besson Chaussures) won the second stage of the Four Days of Dunkirk in Arques, France, besting André Greipel (Team Columbia-Highroad) and Lloyd Mondory (AG2R-La mondiale) in a sprint to the line. He summoned the strenth to edge out the other despite spending 155 kilometres off the front in a break which was caught only three kilometers from the finish.

The teams and rosters have been announced for the 36th edition of the Tour of the Mediterranean Sea, starting tomorrow.
The race has seen a rise in its UCI classification, and as such, they have increased the amount of climbing in the race, with the final stage from Nice to Mont-Faron culminating in a mountaintop finish.
Favorites for the race include Spaniard Jose Ivan Gutierrez (Caisse d’Epargne), who won the race and will have two helpers in the person of Oscar Pereiro and Luis Leon Sanchez at his side. Also on …

Today’s stage went from Sabiñánigo to Zaragoza and was relatively flat except for the Alto de Monrepós, a Cat. 2 climb that comes just 34 km into the race.
Attacks started early, with Alessandro Ballan (Lampre), Manuel Quinziato (Liquigas), Juan Manuel Garate (Quickstep), Yaroslav Popovych (Silence-Lotto), Philippe Gilbert (Francaise de Jeux), Gianni Meersman (FdJ) and Andriy Grivko (Milram) going out hard, but they were caught at the foot of Monrepós.
