We’re back with more news from the 2009 Tour de France and some other cycling news. The big news today was Mark Cavendish making his first bid for the green jersey, but there was heat, crashes and much more.

In an exclusive interview granted to Eurosport, Lance Armstrong made that point before the start of the Tour de France. Four years after his last appearance, the American has returned to the Grande Boucle. He said he was both excited and nervous. But above all, the Texan feels ready. Everyone is warned.

Noted cycling journalist James Raia over at the Cycling Examiner noted today that Quick Step team management has lifted Tom Boonen’s ban and that he will return to racing at the Dauphine Libere on June 7th.

Of course, with the exception of Lance, all of those listed either doped, said that they intended to doped, or tried to elude doping tests.
