152 riders took to the start of today’s 214.4km stage from St-Lievens-Houtem in Belgium to Roermond in the Netherlands.  Though today’s was the longest stage of the Tour, Jaroslaw Marycz (Saxo Bank) decided it was a good day to try to attack his way to victory, launching his first of numerous moves 7kms in.  13kms later, in the peloton, Christian Knees (Milram) crashed into a stop sign and had to abandon the race to go to a local hospital for stitches.

The final stage of the Tour du Limousin ran 180.8kms from Ambazac to Limoges. While an inevitable early break did indeed form, it was reeled back as the peloton faced the concluding four laps of the course. Cervelo seemed most assertive on the day, leading the chase to bring the break back in, then having their young sprinter Davide Appollonio launch a bold solo attack on the last climb with just 2kms to go.
