Here’s some of the news from the past two weeks: 

Not that it’s news to anyone at this point, but Tom Boonen won the Paris-Roubaix on April 13th.  He is now targeting another green jersey at the Tour de France.
Saunier-Duval drops out, so Rock Racing will be at the Tour of Georgia
Danilo Di Luca has been cleared of any doping charges by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI)

Oh, where does the time go? My days have been filled with new projects (I am a project manager, after all), and the nights have been occupied with finishing the SRAM build on my road bike (it’s done, just in time for my new frame to be delivered ;-~).

News:

It’s still as toss-up as for teams and riders going into the Paris-Nice race starting this weekend. The organizers obviously want to hold a professional bike race. The riders need to ride so they can get paid. The teams need to appear to honor commitments to their sponsors. The UCI, not being able to see beyond the end of its nose wants to sanction, and possibly fine, the riders and teams that choose to participate.

What does this accomplish? If there is no one left to race, what’s the point?
