Interbike and Bikes Belong Invest $50,000 to Enhance Bicycling in Las Vegas

Bikes Belong, the national coalition of bike-industry retailers and suppliers, and Interbike, the industry’s annual tradeshow, will invest more than $50,000 during the next two years to improve bicycling conditions in Las Vegas-the show’s host city.

Dan Atherton of Great Britain edged his brother Gee at the opening round of the American National Gravity Calendar series in Boulder City Nevada. Dan’s time of 3mins 9.15 seconds was 0.14 seconds better than ithe time posted by 2008 world champion Gee. In the women’s pre division, Jackie Harmony clocked a 3:48.65 to beat Lisa Myklak by 1.5 seconds.

Coming off of a strong first year that saw series champions Ryan Trebon and Georgia Gould capture the individual titles, as well as the coveted “NACT champions belts,” the North American Cyclocross Trophy announced its 2009 schedule with expansion to Canada.
The 2009 season will include 10 events:
• Star Crossed on September 19 (Seattle. WA)
• RAD Racing Gran Prix on September 20 (Seattle, WA)
• The Erdinger Gran Prix of Gloucester on October 3-4 (Gloucester, MA)
