RinseKit Provides Contained Low Pressure Washing On The Go

Whether you ride a road, gravel, cross, or mountain bike, chances are you and your bike are going to get dirty. It’s always easiest to clean your bike right after you ride and if you have to drive home, you’ll want to clean up before you get in the car. More often than not, there probably won’t be a pressure washer handy to clean up with, so RinseKit is there to help.

RINSEKIT-Product-Open-Top-1000pxRinseKit was created by Chris Crawford when he was looking for a way to clean up after morning surfing sessions before heading to work. With a background in pool construction, Crawford developed a prototype and as more people saw it, he knew he was on to something. From there, the idea took off, RinseKit was established, and a Kickstarter campaign is in progress.

Essentially, it is a sealed bucket, a 6′ hose, and a seven setting spray nozzle. Well, it’s actually a bit more complicated than that, but those are the three main parts. The pressurized bucket fills through the same hose that the nozzle uses. The hose has a quick disconnect that allows it to connect to an adaptor for a standard outside spigot. With the use of an additional adaptor (sold separately), it can be used with your kitchen sink to add hot or cold water. The system is insulated, so the hot water will be kept warm. Filling up only takes about 20 seconds to fill the 2-gallon reservoir. When finished, attached the nozzle through the quick disconnect system, and you are ready to spray. All pieces of the kit fit neatly back into the top of the bucket to make storage simple.

Other accessories include a heater kit that plugs into your car and a field fill kit that allows you to fill the RinseKit from a water source.

The RinseKit sprays at 65 psi for up to four minutes. This should be enough to give you a chance to give you and your bike a quick spray down to knock off mud and grime before it dries on. The lid doubles as a place to stand and clean off and also has an integrated ruler to measure fish or anything else you may need to. The bucket itself is strong enough to use as a step stool if needed, and the rotating handle makes for easy carrying.

Prices vary on the Kickstarter campaign, but the main kit that includes the bucket, hose, nozzle, and spigot adaptor is currently selling for $89 on the RinseKit website. The kitchen sink adapter is available for $15 and additional spigot adapters are $5. The heater kit and field fill kit are available through the Kickstarter campaign.
