Culprit recently announced they are expanding their road disc offering with the aluminum framed Roadi.
The Roadi features race geometry that Culprit calls Contact Point History. Craig Baldwin, a New Zealand bike fit technician and custom frame designer, has taken measurements from thousands of bike fits to create a bike that comes in six sizes and with adjustability to fit most cyclists out there.
The 6061 alloy frame includes Kamm tail shaped top and seat tubes for improved aerodynamics. Smaller seat stays with larger chain stays provide rider comfort with efficient power transfer and the non-drive side stays have been beefed up to handle the additional stresses of disc brakes.
Coming in at 1310 grams for a painted frame with hardware, the Roadi can be set up for mechanical or electronic shifting and mechanical or hydraulic braking, all of which will be internally routed. The full carbon fork is set to accept a 160mm rotor.
Customers will have a choice of three colorways, a stealthy black, black with white, and black with yellow. A Shimano 105 11 speed drive train mated with TRP HyRd mechanical braking build has been announced, with two more build specs coming in the future. On the 105 build, Ritchey provides the stem and handle bars, Reynolds for the wheels, and Culprit completes the build with their interesting looking Softer Ride carbon seat post, which looks to add a little more compliance to the back end.
Pricing starts at $1575 for the 105 build. Additional pricing will be announced for the additional builds in the future. Culprit has begun taking orders, with expected delivery in the fall of 2014.
