If you are like me, you’ve been stuck listening to Christmas music since even before Thanksgiving. While IÂ can’t wait for it to all be over, there is a new one out there from Velocity USA that I can’t stop listening to.
The “Carol of the Spokes” is performed by Velocity’s “Wheel Department” in Grand Rapids, MI, which has released some other fun videos over the years on Vimeo. I highly recommend checking out some of their other videos here.
As part of wheel building, a master will be able to pluck the spokes as you would a musical instrument to find the pitch of the spoke’s tension. They use this to check that the tension is equally distributed across the wheel. Some use special instruments, while others can use the note the spoke makes.
Check out the video here, and from all of us at BikeWorldNews.com, Happy Holidays!
