If you will be attending Interbike this year, organizers want you to come and hang out at “North By Northwest.” The space will be created in a partnership with Yakima to highlight the brands of the Pacific Northwest, along with food, events, and music.
So far, Yakima will be the main brand of the area, with Shower’s Pass planning to attend, and others showing interest. Brands will have the chance to use the new and very limited “Kickstand” display units to present their goods to shop owners, the media, and eventually, the general public.
“The whole idea of curating this space around the Northwest was presented to us by the Yakima team because they wanted to approach the show from a different angle,” said Pat Hus, Vice President of Interbike. “We saw it as an opportunity to shine a bright light on a region that has really become an incubator of innovation and design. There are so many great companies creating amazing products in the Northwest, that it was a natural addition.”
“We’re excited to create something new and original at Interbike,” said Jason McGibbon, Yakima’s Global Senior Director of Sales. “We hope to make North by Northwest a must-attend destination at Interbike so that retailers from around the world can see the creative products that originate in the Pacific Northwest.”
Las Vegas will again be invaded by the biking community when the largest industry show in North America returns for 2015. The Outdoor Demo kicks off the event in Boulder City, NV on September 14-15, with the main expo running from September 16-18 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Cyclocross racers from around the world will also be there for the first U.S. World Cup in the Clif Bar CrossVegas event. Amateur, industry, and the pro races will be held on the first day of the Interbike show, September 16th at the Desert Breeze Soccer Complex, and will be aired live on Universal Sports Network.
