Astral, US manufacturer of high-end rims, has announced the launch of complete wheelsets. Astral debuted in 2017 as the second brand of Rolf Prima, offering rims for traditionally laced wheels. Astral rims are drilled for standard lacing with profiles based on Rolf Prima designs, benefiting from Rolf Prima’s engineering, testing and craftsmanship.
“We have been wheel builders for over 15 years so it is a natural transition to offer complete wheels on the Astral side.” said Brian Roddy, owner of Rolf Prima and Astral Cycling. “Astral allows us to expand our full wheel options further to offer wheels our customers have asked for, such as 40 spoke tandem wheels or an adventure set with Dynamo hubs as well as more standard wheel builds.”
Astral wheels will be built around White Industries hubs for their road, gravel and dirt wheelsets with potential for other hub options. Astral will be offering dealer programs and is working with US bike builders for OEM. All wheels are built in Eugene Oregon.
