Richard Carapaz, Nairo Quintana to make 2019 debut at Vuelta a San Juan

Following their official season opener at the , the will kick off a short tour across Latin America this weekend with the start of the 37th Vuelta a .

will act as DS for a six-man lineup composed of  (ECU), , (COL), , (ESP) and local  Sepúlveda, in his second year in Blue colours.

The Argentinian stagerace – the Movistar Team set to arrive on Friday to complete their acclimatisation to the summer weather – features a 12km ITT at Pocito (Tuesday 29th) plus three mountainous stages: the circuit around the Punta Negra dam hill (st. 2, Monday 28th); a long ascent before Villa San Agustín’s finish (st. 4, Wednesday 30th) and, most importantly, the Alto Colorado (19km at nearly 5% average), the decisive point of the race on Friday 1st February.
