With the Tour de France looming on the horizon, it’s time for all of the special edition products to be released in celebration of the event. Northwave shared with us their new limited edition of the Extreme Pro that Astana and team leader Jakob Fuglsang will be riding.
Spec wise, it is the same shoe as the Extreme Pro, which we will have an in-depth review of coming in the very near future. It’s their top end road shoe, featuring the new XFrame2 upper design and Powershape 15 unidirectional carbon sole. Two SLW2 dials handle the closure.
What sets the Astana Edition apart is the colors. Instead of the more muted white and black colorways, the special edition adds a bit of Astana teal to various parts of the shoe. The dials, and sole pads get the color treatment, along with a flash of teal and black along the bottom of the upper where it meets the sole. The XFrame2 graphic also changes to teal.
We have found the Extreme Pro to check off all of the boxes that a top pro level shoe should, while remaining incredibly comfortable. Keep an eye out for the review coming soon. To get your own pair, or the limited edition Astana version, find your local Northwave dealer to place your order.
