As it gets colder out, it can be harder for some of us to be motivated to put the miles in. Yorkshire brand Restrap, makers of fine packs for gravel, bikepacking, or any time you want to carry extra gear, wants to provide a little extra incentive and challenge yourself on a serious day of riding on the year’s shortest day.
The Restrap Solstice Century runs from December 19th through the 20th. All you have to do is ride a total of 100 miles. It can be all in one shot, over multiple rides, or even an epic overnight experience braving the darkness and cold. You can even put it in on the trainer. However, you do it is up to you. Just remember to upload your ride to Strava, RideWithGPS, or Komoot, and log it on Restrap’s site. If you want to join in on a bigger party, you can also join the Strava event.
Restrap wants to reward you for your efforts too. Every rider that completes the challenge and uploads their ride info on Restrap’s site will receive an exclusive Solstice Century Patch.
But there’s more!
When you upload a pic to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Strava, and tag #SolsticeCentury, you’ll be entered to win a set of 125L Exposure Trace Lights (front and rear) that are custom engraved with the Restrap logo and a packable Race Musette from Restrap. It should be a shot from your ride(s), and be sure to tag Restrap and use the hashtag.
If you can’t make it to this Solstice Challenge, or you want to make a tradition of riding on the solstice, watch for a future Solstice Challenge when we hit the summer.

We’ll have more coming soon from Restrap too. They set us up with the full line of the Race packs that we have been putting time in with. So far, we are extremely impressed. Quality, attention to detail, and design all receive high marks.
