Since 2015, Velo Saddles has celebrated Chinese New Year with a special edition Chinese Zodiac saddle. With the Year of the Rabbit upon us, Velo has recently released their Golden Rabbit for their new Angel Revo.
Velo’s Zodiac series has gone anywhere from over the top with the chain hanging from the saddle for the Year of the Dog and the ring on the nose of the saddle for the Year of the Ox to more subdued like minimal graphics of the Year of the Rat.
This year’s saddle adds a single golden rabbit at the nose of the saddle with subtle rabbits ghosted into the pattern of the cover. The design “highlights the agile, vigilant and quick rabbit” as this year’s zodiac brings a new hope to 2023. From there, they added a gold Eurphora Base shell to match. Titanium rails continue on from the standard Angel Revo, keeping the weight at 221g.

The Year of the Rabbit Angel Revo is 148mm wide and 248mm long, and includes the Y-Cutout relief zone found on many other Velo models. Velo uses their AtmosFoam, which is infused with nitrogen, creating a lighter, more responsive foam, providing consistent rebound and shock-absorbing. It also retains less heat, keeping you cooler in the summer months. AtmosFoam also has a lower environmental impact during the production process, just one of the steps that Velo is taking to add sustainability to their products.

The Angel Revo brings a new level of comfort to the performance-focused Angel line. Having ridden just about every model in the Angel line, the Revo feels the plushest of them all, without feeling like you are sitting on a loveseat. We’ll have a review coming this Spring and it will be my primary saddle across my road, gravel, and indoor training bikes this season.
The Year of the Rabbit saddle is priced at $110 USD.
