Paul Components is one of those brands that just makes well thought out, well made, classy products. They CNC-their aluminum brakes, levers, stems, seat posts, and other products in Chino, California, allowing them to create elegant designs with “no cut corners” in craftsmanship. They already had the Tall & Handsome seat post, but now they offer the Tall & Elegant 0-setback post.
Paul created the Tall & Handsome seat post when he wanted more setback for his Brooks saddles. It offers 26mm of setback, and is simple, strong, and beautiful. We’ll tell you more about it in our upcoming review of a number of Paul’s products we used on a fixed gear commuter build.

But not everyone rides a setback seat post, myself included. They have had tons of interest in a 0-setback post, again, myself included, and here it is, the Tall & Elegent.
Paul kept the simple, elegant design of the Tall & Handsome, and designed the clamp around a two bolt set up. The post allows for about 15 degrees of range in saddle position, with fine tuning being done by loosening one bolt, and tightening the other. The bolt heads sit on spherical stanless-steel washers so they can pivot, allowing them to self-align with the cradle and reducing stress on the bolts and clamp. The top-clamp uses two low-friction brass trunnions, keeping tilt adjustment smooth and effortless, without binding. The two-bolt design also means that seat post slippage has been eliminated. The clamp design works with both alloy and carbon rails.
Besides the brass bits mentioned above, the Tall & Elegant is made from 2024 and 6061 aluminum. Weights will run between 327g and 402g, depending on the 27.2, 30.9, or 31.6mm diameters. The finish will be anodized black, silver, and our favorites, purple and polished.

The Tall & Elegant is available now from Paul for $286.
