In his first appearance in the race, Dutch sprinter Olav Kooij win Stage 5 of the 2026 Tour de France after a day dominated by a solo breakaway by Baptiste Veistroffer (Lotto Intermarché). No change took place in the G.C. battle.
As predicted, a breakaway made it all the way to the finish line today, and out of a group that was as large as 39 riders at its largest, it was Mads Pedersen taking the win in Stage 4 of the 2026 Tour de France.
Casper Van Uden (PicNic- PostNL) won the finish line sprint in Stage 4 of the 2025 Giro d’Italia, his first sprint in a three week race and arguably his biggest win ever.
