With the ongoing Volta a Portugal, Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will start Tour des Fjords motivated by the team’s performance in the Portuguese race. New to the racing calendar, the Norwegian Tour Des Fjords (UCI 2.1) takes place from 16 – 18 August.
Featured in the line up is Kristian Sbaragli, Martin Wesemann, Meron Russom and Tsgabu Grmay who last week completed racing in the United States of America. They are joined by Andreas Stauff, Bradley Potgieter, Youcef Reguigui and Jani Tewelde.
“It’s an exciting opportunity for our athletes in new territory,” said Director of Health and Performance, Dr Carol Austin. “The four-stage race takes place over three days and offers a variety of profiles which will test the individual and team strength. Stage 2 is a short stage followed by stage 3, which is a team time trial so we see it as a strongman’s race. It’s a welcomed return to racing for Brad, Jani and Youcef and we look forward to seeing how the team performs off the back of the recent US program.”
