Specialized-Lululemon defends World Championships TTT title

Team Specialized-lululemon defended the World Championships TTT title today in Firenze, Italy. The team, made up of Ellen Van Dijk, Evenlyn Stevens, Lisa Brennauer, Katie Colclough, Carmen Small and Trixi worrack, posted a time of 51.60 and an average speed of 50.1km/h.

“It was fantastic riding today by the girls today, said Team Director Ronny Lauke. “We really look forward to this event each year and the hard work paid off today. They did everything right.”

“It’s been an incredible season and to finish off with this win – it doesn’t get better than that,” added Carmen Small.

“We were so nervous beforehand we almost puked,” said Evelyn Stevens, “and I think some of us were close to puking during the ride. But everyone was super focused and it felt really smooth the whole way. It’s such a nice thing to win as a team.”

“It’s so nice to see the team so perfectly prepared,” said Team Owner Kristy Scrymgeour. “We have amazing support from our partners who work really closely with us to make sure we have the best equipment. Our staff execute to perfection all through the year and the girls finish it off by putting everything in to every race. The TTT is definitely something special the the success is shared by the whole team including all of our riders who contribute during the year.”

The ladies now go their separate ways to race the ITT and road race with their National teams on Tuesday and Saturday.
