Kitsbow Releases Limited Edition Pendleton Wool “Icon” Shirt

  • Ron

Kitsbow, maker of exceptional mountain bike clothing, partners with the iconic, 150-year-old American company, Pendleton Woolen Mills, to develop the aptly named Icon Shirt.

The classically styled, tailored Icon Shirt with outdoor and cycling-inspired accents blends the best of luxurious Pendleton wool with the high-performance details for which Kitsbow is known. Fabric is woven by Pendleton in Washougal, Washington, then hand-tailored in San Francisco. The origins of the sport guided the design.

“When you think back to mountain biking’s beginning, it was really flannel shirts and jeans,” said Charlie Cronk, Kitsbow designer and co-founder. “We started with the trusted quality of Pendleton wool and added the Kitsbow touch to update this traditional menswear piece for the bike.”

Pendleton uses a yarn-dye process instead of dying the fabric, which accounts for the depth of the solids and vibrancy of the patterns. Wool breathes exceptionally, manages moisture, and has superior antimicrobial properties. Kitsbow augments wool’s inherent performance with laser-cut Schoeller 3XDRY® panels for abrasion and moisture resistance in high wear areas. Articulated sleeves and cuffs provide an adapted fit for riding, while hidden, ventilated stretch-gussets maintain a sharp look whether on or off the bike.

Each Icon Shirt is uniquely numbered with a stamped leather logo patch on the placket at the hem. This limited-production shirt is available while supplies last for $195 at kitsbow.com.
