2015 Tour de France: Stage 6 Results

  • Ron

A late crash took down race leader Tony Martin in Stage 6 of the 2015 Tour de France. The German rider finished the stage and still holds the lead, but was holding his shoulder, leaving doubt as to whether he would be able to continue in the race.

Martin’s teammate Zdenek Stybar went on to win the stage, while Martin ended up being escorted to the line by three teammates.

“I can’t even remember what happened. That’s the Tour. Good luck and bad luck go together,” Martin said.

Slovakian Peter Sagan of Tinkoff-Saxo was second and Frenchman Bryan Coquard of Europcar finished third.

Among the top favourites, defending champion Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) fell in the incident, as well as Colombian Nairo Quintana ().
Nibali crossed the line apparently unhurt while Quintana had blood on his hand.
