Bikeworldnews.com is here in Vegas! Yes, we are covering Interbike for you this year. We have a lot planned for you this year, with daily coverage of Outdoor Demo and Interbike, along with CrossVegas. Check back and look for updates on Facebook and Twitter for this week’s coverage, along with expanded articles after the show on some of our favorite items.
Monday was a busy day at Outdoor Demo, but here are some of our favorite items from the show.
Justin’s Nut Butters

While not a cycling specific product, it is what will be keeping us fueled this week. These single serve packets of peanut and almond butters in a variety of flavors have been a favorite of our East Coast service course for a mid-ride protein snack. Recently they launched their snack packs, which include pretzels and a little well of nut butters. Think of the cheese spread and crackers you had as a kid, but much healthier and filling. New for the show is their banana chips and peanut butter snack packs. Check back in the coming weeks after the show for more about Justin’s nut butters.
3T

We’ve reviewed many products for 3T over the last few years, but the new Exploro is one of the most anticipated products for me. The bike has started the discussion about aerodynamics at slower speeds. I had the chance to ride an Exploro LTD, equipped with a SRAM 1X drivetrain, THM Clavicula carbon crank, and 3T Discus c25 wheels with WTB Horizon 650x47mm slicks. We’ll have a review rig coming after the show, but a quick test ride that included a twisting downhill, the climb back up, and a detour onto double track and and jumping onto IMBA trail with riders on full suspension bikes and knobby tires, I came back with a huge smile on my face. The bike handled it all, and asked for more. We’ll have a fun review coming, along with an article diving deeper into the aero claims 3T is making.
Bolle
Bolle had a few updates to their sunglass lines and updated colors to their The One helmet line. The Aeromax and B-Rock are new additions to the line that offer partial and full frame version of the 5th Element sunglasses. On the helmet side, The One keeps all the great features and accessories that make it a great helmet for the money, but adds new colors. We’ll have a full review of The One, including some shots of the new colors coming soon.
Speedplay

From a new product perspective, there wasn’t too much new, but it was more about enhancing the ride for cyclists. Speedplay has had kits to for their Zero pedals to change the spindle length and shims to adjust for leg length differences, but they now have the ability to do the same on the SYZR mountain bike pedal. Like the Zero the SYZR’s mechanical function is in the cleat, so the pedal can be split apart, with additional shims being aded below the outer plates. This helps correct leg length differences and keeps the mud clearing properties of the pedal system. We’ll touch base with Speedplay again at the show, and we hope to get a set of SYZR pedals in for review.
