RinseKit Expands Line to Plus and Lux, New Accessories

Think about that last nasty ride you did. A muddy cross race, a wet gravel ride, or mucky mountain bike adventure, and at the end, you and your gear probably could have used a shower and pressure washer before you got back into your car or house. You may not always have access to a shower or pressure washer, but RinseKit wants to change that.

We previously told you about the brand and their original RinseKit here, but the quick version is that the RinseKit is a portable shower that gives you the pressure of a hose but doesn’t need to be pumped or use batteries for pressure. More recently, the brand has launched their RinseKit Plus and Lux models, and some new accessories to help add to your adventures.

“We’ve engineered our new products to offer the ultimate convenience for cleaning up pets, gear and people on the go,” said Chris Crawford, RinseKit’s Founder. “RinseKit’s latest products gives anyone who likes to play outdoors an easy way to clean up, rinse off and stay comfortable no matter where they are.”

Let’s start with the Plus. The Plus builds off of the original with a hard plastic case design, but improves spray time. Size wise, they are the same, but the RinseKit Plus uses an updated 2 gallon Eon pressure chamber that is more efficient to increase spray time by 50%. The 6′ hose used for filling and later spraying, and adjustable spray nozzle, store inside when not in use, and the lid can be used to stand on when changing to provide a clean surface. There are now two ports in the Eon pressure chamber available to use for accessories, which we’ll talk more about shortly. It also now comes with a barb that can be used to fill the RinseKit Plus with your kitchen sink, instead of using an outdoor spigot. This is helpful to be able to decide if you want to fill it with hot or cold water, or for filling up inside during the colder winter months.

The Lux takes a different approach to the form factor of the RinseKit. Instead of a hard plastic container, the Lux uses a 3-gallon soft tote design that also doubles as a cooler. It uses the same Eon pressure chamber as the Lux for extended spray time and use of accessories but is easily removable. There are two outside pockets that can be used for carrying small items, and a shoulder strap instead of the Plus’ handle.

The new accessories aim to make the experience easier and more luxurious. The first is a pressure boosting pump that can help with filling the tank from bodies of water instead of a spigot or sink. There are times when you might not be near a plumbing hook up, so the pressure boosting pump will help solve that. A built-in pressure gauge will help you get the optimal pressure for the RinseKit.

The second new accessory is the heater. While it might not be as necessary as the boosting pump, who doesn’t like to take a hot shower or get sprayed with warm water when cleaning off after a cold, winter cross race? The heater plugs into your car’s 12v socket and has a wand that inserts into the Eon pressure tank to heat up the water. It has a timer that can go for 30, 60, or 90 minutes, and has an auto shut off so it doesn’t kill your vehicle’s battery.

The original RinseKit currently sells on their website for $74.95. The updated Plus starts at $99.95 and the new Lux starts at $159.95. Both the Plus and Lux are available as packages with the heater accessory (add $69.95) or the heater/pump combo (add $104.95). The heater is also available separately for $69.95 and the pump retails at $34.95. The sink barb is also available at $14.95.

We have a sample coming in and look forward to testing it out these season at some gravel and cross events. Look for a review coming later this year.
