Ibis Cycles introduces enduro-focused Mojo HD5

  • Ron

Ibis Cycles introduces the Enduro World Series tested and team-approved Mojo HD5 today. It’s designed for ragged descents combined with real-world climbs requiring efficiency, positioning, and poise—which it delivers in spades. It’s the ultimate 27.5” brawler, living to ride as hard up as down with 153mm of unflappable dw-link controlled travel and a 170mm fork.

What’s Different

New from the ground up, the HD5 has a slacker 64.2 degree head tube angle that delivers about 20mm of additional reach, a 2 degree steeper seat tube angle, and clearance for a long dropper. Ibis has also made it easier to live with, day in and day out. New internally molded tubes in tubes makes for easy cable feed in, pop out simplicity. They’ve also added upper and lower linkage protection and a Ripmo style lower link for reduced maintenance.

“Traction Tuned” Suspension

Ibis’ custom-tuned front and rear suspension features extra light high speed compression and rebound damping, delivering unparalleled traction. This allows the wheels to flutter through terrain like a trophy truck storming through a set of whoops. To learn more about Ibis’ Traction Tune philosophy, click here.

The Details

The HD5 will accommodate up to 2.6 inch tires on 27.5 inch wheels. Sizes are available from SM to XL, suitable for riders from 5′ to 6’6″. It has a threaded BB (so glad to see the industry returning to this!), ISCG chainring protection tabs, room for a water bottle cage inside the front triangle, 180mm brakes (with room for 203s if you so desire) and Boost 148 spacing. There’s a seven year warranty on the frame and lifetime replacement for the suspension bushings.

Complete builds start at $4399 with an Eagle NX build kit and top out at $9299 with a Shimano XTR group. You can get the frame and shock for $2999 to build your own.
