CeramicSpeed Supports Women’s Cycling With Limited Edition Green Pulleys

Over the last few years, CeramicSpeed has created a unique color pulley for their Oversized Pulley Wheel System (OSPW) and standard pulleys to support a cause. This year, their green versions will be supporting the riders of the Bigla-Katusha women’s professional cycling team. With each limited edition item sold in May and June, the Danish brand will be donating 15 Euros to a fund set up for the riders.

Green is the color of hope, and that is something that many people need right now. Teams and events around the world are struggling with how to continue during the current crisis and the uncertainty that is ahead. We will get through this, and we will ride again, but for now, we need to do what we can to support each other.

The OSPW System mixes aluminum pulley wheels with a reinforced carbon fiber cage and the brand’s ceramic bearings to provide an upgraded derailleur set up. The larger cages help to reduce the bend in the chain as it passes through the derailleur, and the brand’s ceramic bearings are precision-engineered to provide low-friction and efficiency for your drivetrain. The OSPW System is available in a wide range of models to fit Campagnolo, Shimano, and SRAM drivetrains for road and off-road applications.

Their standard pulleys are meant to replace the pulleys in your stock derailleur cages while offering the durability and efficiency CermicSpeed had to offer. Sets of pulleys start at $429.

As the Covid-19 crisis hit, the team was notified that their sponsors were pulling and the team was in danger of ending. To keep things moving forward, the team started crowdfunding effort and tapped into the team’s bank guarantees with the UCI. CeramicSpeed’s efforts should help to provide a little bit of financial relief during a time when every bit counts.

“Team Bigla-KATUSHA helped launch some of the most incredible talents in women’s cycling and catapulted some of the most exciting female riders of the generation into the big time,” explained Executive Vice-President at CeramicSpeed, Martin Banke. “We have always had a great collaboration with the team, and it is during these challenging times that we wish to extend a ray of hope to everyone in the sport. Now is when the community must stand together and weather the current storm.”

The limited-edition green OSPW Systems are currently available on CeramicSpeed’s website, starting at $599. The bearings used in the limited-edition sets are the brand’s coated version, which claims even higher efficiency and durability than their standard ceramic bearings. Pricing is the same as the traditional colors of pulley wheels, but quantities are limited, and they are for a good cause during the months of May and June.
