As Wahoo continues to drive product innovation, they recently announced a new training platform that combines on-the-bike training with off-the-bike workouts to help cover all of your training needs. SYSTM rounds out the range of products that includes a full indoor training suite, heart rate monitors, and cycling computers.

One of the first questions you might ask is what about The Sufferfest, one of Wahoo‘s first acquisitions. Well, this is an evolution of that platform, but also adds so much more to it. Along with indoor training, SYSTM adds science-based workouts for multisport athletes (running and swimming), body-weight strength training, yoga, and mental training.
“When Wahoo acquired The Sufferfest, we knew we had a real opportunity to revolutionize the way people train,” said David McQuillen, founder of The Sufferfest and Wahoo’s head of Training Services. “We set out to build the most comprehensive training app available — incorporating engaging content, the best sports science, useful training tips delivered in plain language, and tools that empower athletes across the spectrum to achieve their unique fitness goals. With the launch of SYSTM we have set the stage, offering a training solution that sits at the center of the Wahoo ecosystem of devices to make improving your performance simpler and more rewarding.”

SYSTM allows you to create training plans based on a range of plans to fit your varying fitness levels, disciplines, and goals. Every workout and training plan was designed by The Wahoo Sports Science Division, which is headed up by world-renowned coach, Neal Henderson. The goal is to help you maximize your efforts in the small amount of time that most of us have to train.
“Wahoo’s mission has always been to create the easiest-to-use connected fitness training tools and devices. SYSTM is a perfect complement to our hardware — it’s a training platform that serves athletes of all levels, from weekend warriors to aspiring professionals,” said Wahoo CEO Mike Saturnia.

SYSTM takes customization to a new level though, with their Four-Dimensional Power (4DP) Technology. It provides deep insights into your fitness, and then adjusts workouts and plans to match. Your performance targets are customized to each athlete so every workout, every interval is as hard as it needs to be for you to see gains.
Wahoo gives you a full range of options through the app. Some of the options include:
– The Sufferfest: Pro race footage, driving soundtracks, and engaging storylines set to challenging workouts. Served with a dose of humor.
– On Location: Guided tours of some of cycling’s most iconic routes.
– ProRides: Immersive race simulations that combine first-person camera footage from pro races with elite riders’ power files, scaled to the user’s 4DP™ profile.
– A Week With: Spend a week training with Wahoo athletes. Go behind the scenes and see how they live and work.
– Inspiration: Cycling-focused films and documentaries matched to recovery and endurance workouts.
– Strength Training: A more focused, integrated approach to strength training that benefits runners, multisport athletes, and cyclists.

The app will be available for Windows and macOS computer users, and iOS and Android for mobile users. And while SYSTM works great with Wahoo’s own products, it is designed to be used with connected fitness devices from most major brands, meaning most of your smart trainers, power meters, heart rate monitors, and cadence sensors from many brands will work.

Along with SYSTM, Wahoo also launched The Knowledge podcast. Each 15-minute episode focuses on training specific topics for athletes that need to make the most of their small amount of training time.
New users, so users not already on The Sufferfest, can take advantage of a 14 day free trial. From there, SYSTM is $14.99 a month, or $129.99 a year. Current Sufferfest users will be automatically enrolled into SYSTM as the new app will be replacing it.
