Tifosi recently added a few new models to their lineup of feature-packed, yet value-conscious sunglasses. The Swank XL adds a larger version to the Swank lineup.
The Swank is Tifosi’s take on a classic style sunglass, similar to the Oakley Frogskin or Rayban Wayfair. The Swank XL adds a larger lens option to their full-framed Swank, and half-framed Swank SL. Both the Swank and Swank XL lenses measure 51mm wide, but the XL adds about 1.5mm to the height. The frame adds about 2.5mm to the nose bridge, making them the choice for those with wider faces. The Swank SL’s lenses are technically larger, 44.8x57mm, but they fill the same amount of space as the Swank’s frame.

The Swank XL is made from a light, yet durable Grilamid TR-90 material, which helps keep them comfortable all day. To help keep them in place, they use hydrophilic rubber nose pieces that actually get tackier when they get wet and Tifosi Glide textured temples. The lenses are shatterproof, scratch-resistant polycarbonate lenses that are optically decentered to remove distortion and unwanted magnification. They also provide 100% UVA and UVB protection from ultra-violet rays.
“Our original Swank family of sunglasses have been incredibly well received by our customers across all usage categories,” commented Earley. “We wanted to build on that momentum and offer our customers an option for fuller face coverage and expanded colorways, a trend we’ve been tracking in the eyewear market.”
The Swank XL is available in the following colors: Blackout/Smoke, Satin Vapor/Smoke Red, Brown Fade/Brown Polarized, Blue Tortoise/Brown, Pink Tortoise/Rose Mirror, Frost Blue/Smoke Bright Blue. Non-Polarized models retail at $29.95, while Polarized will set you back $54.95. The Swank XL is available in the Tifosi Custom Lab, allowing you to create any mix of frame, temples, and lenses that you would like $39.95 or $74.95, depending on lens option. It is also available in RX versions, offering single vision and progressive lenses, various coatings, and clear and a few lens tint options. A base model will set you back $104.95, while all the bells and whistles (progressives, Fototec lenses, and anti-reflective/anti-fog coatings) will be $329.95.
We’ll be getting the Sledge Lite, along with a pair of Swank XL’s in prescription form, for review later this month. Watch for reviews coming later this spring for these and a number of other sunglasses we’ll be testing.
