Fall Riding Guide From Club Ride Apparel

We’re starting to feel the chill in the air at the BWN Service Course, which means fall is here. Leaves are changing colors and it’s soon time to break out the long sleeves and flannels. For Club Ride Apparel, it’s their favorite time of year. Whether you are ripping the trails, commuting to the market, or hanging out at the firepit, their fall collection has you covered. We have some of our favorite picks below with some reviews coming early this fall.

On Bike

Let’s start on the bike. This is the gear you’ll want for trail riding, hiking, or any time you are active. These items will be Club Ride’s Sport Fit, which is more trim and fitted than their Comfort Fit and blends high-performance and durable materials to keep you warm, cool, and protected.

Rider Pant – $109.95 – For guys, the Rider Pant is going to take you through the fall. Chilly mornings, fall sun, riding through the brush, even some light fall showers, it’s got the protection you need. Made using 40% Recycled Polyester, along with 26% Polyester, 22% Cotton, and 12% Spandex, the Rider Pant has a 4-way stretch for range of motion and a WR finish for some protection from the wet. Two front pockets and a zippered side pocket can hold all of your essentials. A tapered fit will perform on the bike, but still look good for grabbing a beer or coffee after your ride.

Mahalo Flannel – $119.95 – Up top, add on the Mahalo Flannel. It’s much more than your standard flannel though, with CoolMax fabrics to help keep it breathable, yet warm on cool days. A little bit of spandex provides some stretch for when you move around, and underarm vents help let the heat out. Reflective panels help keep you seen, and snap buttons make it easy to get on and off. It has a few hidden zipper pockets too to keep your valuables safe.

Joanie Capri – $89.95 – When the trail calls, Joanie answers. These 16.5″ capris are made to look good and perform even better, no matter how gnarly the trail gets. Joanie covers down past the knee with a split back to articulate with your pedal stroke. They feature a 4-way poly/spandex material with reinforced panels for durability. A high cut back and double snap waist also has internal velcro adjustments to help you dial in the perfect fit. Four main pockets and a zippered thigh pocket will hold everything you need to take with you. RideLight reflective accents help keep you seen in low light.

Sola Long Sleeve – $99.95 – Sola will be perfect for those sunny days when you want coverage with a little bit of warmth, but a flannel might be a bit much. The quarter zip front lets you customize ventilation and the 4-way stretch poly/spandex blend wicks away sweat and dries quickly. Two zippered front hand pockets can carry what you need, or help warm your hands up. The integrated hood can be stowed away when not needed. If things warm up enough, you can pack away the entire garment due to its lightweight material.

Off (or On) Bike

Just because you aren’t bombing down a trail, doesn’t mean your clothes shouldn’t still perform. Club Ride’s casual lines have a Comfort Cut that isn’t as slim as their active lines, but still use many of the same performance materials. Check out our suggestions for men and women below.

Spoke Denim – $89.95 – Building off the original Cog jeans, the Spoke Denim will move with you on the bike but still look at home on a night out for drinks. This 11.7oz denim has spandex woven in to allow you to move comfortably. The rear is shaped to help keep you covered when riding and a double-layer seat adds durability and smooths out seams. Through the leg, the Spoke is cut to allow you a full range of motion when pedaling. It has a traditional 5 pocket design, with a hidden zipper pocket to stash your goodies. And when the sun goes down, just roll the cuffs to show the reflective trim to keep you visible.

Daniel Flannel – $89.95 – Daniel is going to be your workhorse. Ripping trails, commuting to the coffee shop, or sitting around the bonfire, it will perform well and look good at the same time. The poly/spandex blend is moisture-wicking and quick-drying and will move with you. Metal snaps and underarm vents help you easily regulate temps. Two snap chest pockets and a rear zipper pocket keep your valuables safe. Don’t forget a hidden sunglasses wipe to help clean your glasses on your adventures.

Griffin Flannel – $99.95 – The Griffin is going to be your shacket. It’s still a shirt, but is lined and includes a wind-blocking front and breathable back to help keep the chill out, but still keep your cool. The poly/spandex material stretches with you on and off the bike, and metal snaps make it easy to pop open for some extra ventilation. To hold your goodies, there is a hidden chest pocket and an internal stow pocket to keep everything secure.

Element Pant – $109.95 – Even though it is a technical piece, the Element Pant is at home on or off the bike. It features an athletic cut with a shaped waist and plenty of stretch to move with you. Two zippered cargo pockets with fold-over snap covers keep your valuables safe, along with two front pockets. They are water and wind-resistant to help you on any of your adventures.

Pop Over Hoody – $99.95 – When a flannel and a hoody have a baby, you get the Pop Over Hoody. You can go bold or more subtle in your color choice, but it’s a functional piece that works on and off the bike. It’s made from a poly/spandex blend to be super soft, but still stretch with you as you move. It has a kangaroo pouch on the front along with pockets to help keep your hands nice and warm. Reinforced hems give the Pop Over a contrasting look, and Ridelight reflective accents help you be seen in low-light conditions.

  1. Thanks for the super write up and appreciate the support. Stoked for the last 15 years of the honor to be part of the bike industry making apparel and friends on and off two wheels! Mike Herlinger

  2. And thanks to Club Ride for all that they do!

I just picked up some Mountain Surf shorts earlier in the summer (my faves!) and just got my Club Ride shirt for renewing my IMBA membership, which I love.
