BePink to Ride Officine Mattio

Ahead of their first event of the season, Women Cycling Pro Costa de Almeria, BePink UCI Women’s Continental Team has announced they will be racing on bikes from Officine Mattio. The Cuneo, Italy brand will be supporting their first UCI professional team by providing the top of the line Lemma RT frames.

The partnership is a natural connection between two Italian brands. Based in Lombardy, BePink was founded in 2011, and has seen success on both road and track, winning multiple world and national championships, along with riders medaling at the Olympics and other top level competitions.

“We are excited to join the BePink project,” said Giovanni Monge Roffarello, CEO of Officine Mattio. “We immediately had a connection with Walter Zini, as we both want to do something great in what has always been his world: women’s cycling. We at Officine Mattio love challenges and look forward to getting started!”

The Lemma RT

Officine Mattio will be providing all riders with the Lemma RT, one for racing, and one for training. The Lemma is named after the Alpine climb near Cuneo where Roffarello first tested their prototype. The range topping model offers the team the best blend of stiffness, acceleration and aerodynamics, in a lightweight platform. The RT range uses T1100 Toray carbon fiber and a special resin that improves stiffness, while helping to reduce weight. The clean lines of the bike are brought to life with a powerful black canvas with a top tube highlight of BePink’s magenta and technical partner Imatra’s purple.

Rounding out the build, BePink will be a cockpit and wheels from Deda Elementi, Repente saddle, Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tires, SRAM Red AXS 12 speed groupset with Quarq power meter, Look Keo Blade Carbon pedals, and bottle cages from Officine Mattio.

“We are excited to start this new adventure with Officine Mattio” said BePink’s Team Manager Walter Zini. “BePink too, like Officine Mattio, is the result of wanting to create a project that could be a strong player in our wonderful sport and we believe that, also thanks to their support, we can further improve. We will soon be competing again and are anxious to once again put a number  on our back!”

Officine Mattio

The Italian brand’s name continues to grow in the cycling world. Officine Mattio started in 2013 as a dream to make a better bike in Italy using modern production techniques. A year later, the brand was founded, and has continued to grow their product line to include multiple road models, a gravel frame, and multiple models in steel and aluminum. In 2018, they became a sponsor of the Granfondo La Fausto Coppi. With the partnership with BePink, the brand has their sites set to continue to drive innovation within the product line as it shines on the world’s largest stages.
