Bikes We’d Like To Own: 2017 Specialized S-Works Epic

I’m generally reluctant to link to anything on Bike Rumor (so I won’t), but today, they did have an article about Specialized’s 2017 edition of their S-Works Epic model, so I headed over to Spesh’s site to check it out.

With a sub-800g gram frame, the S-Works Epic is the lightest frame in the Specialized line – even lighter than their top end road bike, the Tarmac.

While the frame – the frame! – goes for $3000, you can be sure that you’ll be seeing completes under some of the top XC racers in the world in the next year.

As Bike Rumor mentions, you can already order one of these pups from your local dealer, but the full details will not be available until later this month at Sea Otter.

Right now, just two colorways are available: the mint/black/acid green shown above, and an all black model that mixes shiny and matte elements.

Now, if if were me, I’d buy the frame and build it up myself, but Specialized is selling complete bikes starting at $8000, with a Di2 version topping out the range at $9500.
