2026 Giro d’Italia: Stage 16 Results

  • Ron

Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) has won stage 16 of the 2026 , the 113 km long Bellinzona-Carì, extending his hold on the going into the last week of the race. Felix Gall (Decathlon CMA CGM Team) and Jai Hindley ( Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe) rounded out the podium.

Speaking seconds after the finish, Vingegaard said: “My teammates and myself were very motivated to win a stage with the Maglia Rosa. We chose the first option for that. It was a very nice, hard and long climb for doing it today. My teammates did an amazing job. They pulled from the start. They didn’t give the breakaway a chance and I had to do the rest. It’s a special place for me and Team Galli who encouraged me from the road side. I know this area very well. It was great to get some support from close friends. It’s not in my mind to win six stages like two years ago. I have four now and I take it day by day”.
